Phuket, Thailand – The Naka Island, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Phuket, has announced the appointment of Mr. Nils Minken as General Manager, effective 19 May 2025.
With nearly two decades of leadership experience at Marriott International, Nils began his career at The Westin Bund Center Shanghai in 2006. Since then, he has held key roles across China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, representing eight brands under the Marriott portfolio, including The Ritz-Carlton.
Renowned for his expertise in operational excellence and brand positioning, Nils played a leading role in launching the first Autograph Collection hotel in Asia Pacific and was honoured with the prestigious APAC Operational Leader of the Year award. Prior to this appointment, he served as Executive Assistant Manager at Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse.
A long-time resident of Thailand, Nils began his journey in the country at Renaissance Koh Samui and holds a deep appreciation for Thai culture and the warmth of its people. His dedication to talent development and mentorship reflects Marriott’s broader commitment to nurturing future leaders in hospitality.
