The silk weaving legacy of Ban Khrua

A 77-year-old artisan named Niphon Manuthas is dedicated to preserving the rich legacy of silk weaving at his small factory along the Saen Saep canal in Bangkok's Ratchathewi district. 

This effort honours the revival of the Thai silk industry, a movement led by American architect Jim Thompson in the 1950s that brought international attention to the traditional weaving skills of Ban Khrua.
